The Guide is an aid tool to ensure activity in companies and work centres while protecting the health of staff and customers. The instructions and recommendations made by the Ministry of Health were taken into account in its preparation, as was the "Information Document on the coronavirus COVID-19", issued by the hotel business association HOSBEC and the Guide for drawing up an action plan by companies in response to emergencies, approved by CCOO, UGT, CEOE and CEPYME on the occasion of the outbreak of the 2009 flu pandemic.

As well as basic general measures, it includes specific preventive measures in tourist accommodation (management, reception, technical services and maintenance, dining rooms, bars and kitchens, for cleaning staff and chambermaids, and in children's play areas). It also provides for procedures to follow in the event that the establishment or a hotel room is confirmed with a positive case, and policies for communication and information flows.

This is an open document that will subsequently incorporate fresh information, recommendations and instructions depending on the evolution and spread of the virus. The Guide is available on the web page of the ministerial department.
