"The government is working to reframe the tourism model to align it with the country project within the framework of the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals", she said in her speech at the round table entitled "Stimulating the local, inclusive and sustainable model to meet the sustainable development goals". The minister highlighted the role of this sector in contributing to the goal of reducing the labour and wage gap, and referred to the programme based on the methodology of Tourist Destinations.

Reyes Maroto stressed the need to harness the opportunities offered by the technological and digital transformation in the modernisation of the productive model, and that the government is working on an agenda for "green industry" that boosts renewable energies, which the previous government had suspended, and mentioned care for the elderly by recovering the measures contained in the Long-term Care Act approved by a Socialist government.

Lastly, she mentioned the government's approval, in its first 100 days in office, of the Master Plan on Dignified Work (2018-2020), which seeks to dignify working conditions, and pointed to the need to develop policies that foster inclusive growth and guarantee equal opportunities, a "feminist" agenda to guarantee effective equality between women and men.

The State Secretary for Tourism, Isabel Oliver, also took part in Wednesday's sessions of this multilateral conference, prior to the upcoming Ibero-American Summit of Heads of State and Government to be held in November,

Reyes Maroto will attend the Trade and Investment Ministerial Meeting of the G-20 on 13 and 14 September, which will be held in Mar del Plata (Argentina). She will take part in several bilateral meetings with her counterparts from Europe, America, Asia and Oceania.
