They have been made ready to take part in the blue beret mission (painted white and with the corresponding symbols) and equipped with information and telecommunications resources and the corresponding weapons.
These vehicles will be first used in the field by the next contingent that will take over in November, basically consisting of the 'Guzmán el Bueno X' Mechanised Infantry Brigade, based in Cerro Muriano (Cordoba), and that will constitute the 18th rotation. The drivers have already been trained in how to operate these vehicles.
The dispatch of these 'Lynx' vehicles concludes the deployment in the field of all those that were delivered in 2011 together with the RG-31s, except those that will remain in Spain for educational and training purposes.
The LMV have already proven themselves on such demanding missions in terms of security and adaptability as those in Afghanistan, meaning that their capabilities in Lebanon are fully guaranteed.
The 'Lynx' vehicles are already at the 'Miguel de Cervantes' Base and the Deployment Support Unit has assumed the task of their maintenance and tuning until such time as officers from the 18th Logistics Unit (formed by personnel from the 10th Logistics Group and the 21st Logistics Support Team) arrive to collect them.
Not all the BMR will be returned to Spain. A number of them will remain in the field, although the volume of missions assigned to them will be reduced.
