President of the Government received President of Republic of Senegal

The President of the Government, Mariano Rajoy, received the President of the Republic of Senegal, Macky Sall, at Moncloa Palace, within the framework of the first official visit to Spain of an African Head of State during the present legislature, as well as the first visit of the current President of the Republic of Senegal.

Moncloa Palace, Madrid

At the meeting with the President of the Government, they reviewed the excellent bilateral relations, particularly in terms of cooperation on home affairs issues, development cooperation and economic and trade relations; President Sall will also attend a Business Meeting at the Chamber of Commerce. They also tackled regional issues of mutual interest including the Ebola crisis and the security situation in the Sahel.

President Sall has been accompanied to Spain by the Minister for Home Affairs, Abdoulaye Daouda Diallo, and the Minister for Economy and Finance, Amadou Bâ.

The President of the Government had previously held a meeting with President Sall in New York on 25 September 2012, on the sidelines of the General Assembly of the United Nations.
