Statement by President of the Government in Lower House of Parliament following approval of "ceiling on spending"

I believe that this is good news, firstly for Spain, and also for the government, but the fact that we have approved the "ceiling on spending" means that we have taken the first step towards approving the Budget.

I repeat that we are consolidating the economic recovery, jobs are being created and more will be created in the future, provided that we are capable of maintaining a reasonable economic policy and in this regard, today's approval of the "ceiling on spending" is an excellent message for the Spanish people, for the social and economic agents, and for the markets outside of Spain.

I am grateful to all those groups that lent their support, starting with the People's Party group, but also all those others that have allowed this bill to be passed because, I repeat, this is highly positive.
