Moncloa sets up group to monitor situation in Japan

The group will be headed up by the Director of the Office of the First Vice-President of the Government and will also include: the Director of the Institutional Affairs Department of the Office of the Presidency of the Government; the Director of the Infrastructures and Monitoring of Crisis Situations Department of the Presidency of the Government; the Assistant Director of the Office of the First Vice-President of the Government and Minister for Home Affairs; the Director-General for Consular Affairs from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation; the Director-General for Public Health from the Ministry of Health, Social Policy and Equality; the Director-General for Informative Coordination from the State Secretariat of Communication; and the Assistant Director-General for Nuclear Energy from the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade.
For technical consultancy purposes, this group will be assisted by a representative from the Nuclear Safety Council. Meetings will be held on a daily basis and/or when circumstances dictate.
