Government reiterates its commitment to democracy in Gabon following attempted coup d'état

The Government of Spain reiterates its firm commitment to democracy in Gabon and hopes that institutional normality will swiftly be restored.

Spanish citizens in Gabon are being informed of the situation as it develops, and are in contact with the consular services, although to date they have suffered no attacks as a result of the attempted coup d'état.
