Firstly, the ministers reviewed relations between the European Union and Uzbekistan, particularly the EU Strategy for Central Asia, as an excellent opportunity to step up political, economic and security cooperation, and the contributions from Uzbekistan to Security Dialogue with the EU.
Ministers Dastis and Kamilov also tackled some issues on the regional agenda, such as the situation in Afghanistan, progress on the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation and the New Silk Road initiative.
Furthermore, the ministers reviewed the state of economic relations and the sectors which, such as infrastructures, transport, energy and agriculture, are likely to offer the greatest opportunities to Spanish companies.
Lastly, they signed an Air Services Agreement and an International Road Transport Agreement.
