This decision is not in line with the interest in dialogue expressed by the company or its commitment to improve its electricity distribution service, despite the adverse circumstances beyond the control of the company.

The Government of Spain, as it declared in its Statement on 16/11/2016, remains concerned at the situation caused by winding up a company whose Spanish subsidiary is at the cutting edge in the sectors in which it operates, a company that shows great social awareness and which has been operating and investing for many years in Colombia.

The government, which will continue to offer its support to GNF should it decide to make use of the legal instruments available, urges the Government of Colombia to continue its dialogue with the company, such that a satisfactory solution can be reached for all parties, which takes into account the interests of users and of the company, respecting the principle of legal certainty.
