The two detainees, who had undergone a lengthy process of radicalisation, formed part of a strongly motivated group that were very determined to undertake terrorist activities.

The investigation, focused on the extremist quarters in Ceuta, uncovered a group of individuals who were in an advanced phase of radicalisation in Jihadist ideology.

At the same time, the Guardia Civil proceeded to search six properties and premises belonging to the detainees in the hope of uncovering new evidence that would help them to clarify possible ties between the detainees both in our country and overseas.

Since 2015, the year in which the Ministry of Home Affairs raised the Counter-Terrorism Alert Level to level 4 (Spanish acronym: NAA-4), the law enforcement agencies have arrested a total of 180 Jihadist terrorists.
