Spain welcomes the election of the President of the General Assembly of United Nations

The Government of Spain wishes to express its full support for the new president in the performance of his functions and expresses its full disposition to work together to tackle the major challenges facing the organisation including, among others, respect for international law, the defence and promotion of human rights, the fight against climate change and sustainable development.
