This plan, with more than 1.6 billion in public investment until 2025, aims to increase foreign investment in Spain, support the talent of professionals in the sector and export its own content.

The President of the Government of Spain stressed that Spain "has become the perfect filming location", and wants to support the industry throughout the value chain and in all its creative formats: cinema, series, short films, advertising, video games and animation. The meeting with the major production companies brought the President of the Government of Spain together with senior executives from Amazon, Apple, Netflix, Sony, Disney, Paramount, Warner/HBO, Universal Studios and the Motion Picture Association.

Spain has been considered one of the most attractive destinations for global audiovisual productions for decades, attracting film and television creators and producers from all over the world. In this regard, the Government of Spain's plan is to increase audiovisual production in Spain by 30% by the end of 2025.

The Government of Spain's recently approved plan has three objectives: to turn Spain into a major audiovisual production centre and reduce administrative and regulatory burdens; to improve the competitiveness of companies with the application of new technologies; and to build and attract talent while reducing the gender gap. During his speech, the president highlighted: "Spain enjoys a rich audiovisual ecosystem, with talented professionals and creative industries that are proving to be very successful in the development of TV series, video games and other productions."

One of the plan's projects is to retain, attract and increase talent in the different professions linked to audiovisual productions to meet the growing needs of an expanding industry. Increased public investment in education, especially in vocational training and acquiring digital skills will give a boost to the entire audiovisual industry value chain.

Spain, the perfect filming location

It is also due to the readiness and willingness of companies to incorporate digital technological improvements into audiovisual production. And, as you can see, my Government is ready to actively play its part.

Sánchez stressed that the "Spanish brand" is in fashion in audiovisual narratives, which is already "a sign of excellence". "Spain is in a solid starting position to become a leading audiovisual hub in Europe and the world," concluded the President of the Government of Spain.
