Pedro Sánchez visited the headquarters of the Presidency of the Regional Government of Madrid, where he was received by Isabel Díaz Ayuso. After signing the book of honour, they held a meeting regarding the epidemiological situation of COVID-19 in the region, at which they agreed on the need to work in a coordinated fashion to flatten this second curve of the pandemic.

Paying heed to the specific characteristics of Madrid, Pedro Sánchez and Isabel Ayuso opted to set up a joint COVID-19 work group that will meet on a weekly basis, with the aim of coordinating actions to combat the epidemic in Madrid, such as strengthening primary care and contact tracing.

The President of the Government stressed that the unity of all institutions and of the whole of society is key for halting the pandemic, and once again called for individual responsibility from citizens and compliance with the health recommendations to avoid the spread and transmission of the virus.
