Pedro Sánchez visits areas affected by flooding in provinces of Almeria and Albacete

In Níjar (Almeria), the Acting President of the Government held a meeting with the President of the Regional Government of Andalusia, Juanma Moreno, the Mayor of Almeria, Ramón Fernández-Pacheco, the Mayor of Níjar, Esperanza Pérez, and those responsible for the emergency services, who explained to him first-hand the current situation in the region.

Pedro Sánchez then travelled to Castile-La Mancha, where he visited the towns of Caudete and Almansa, where he met with the President of the Regional Government, Emiliano García Page, and with other officials and members of the emergency services that have provided support in the region.

Following this visit, Pedro Sánchez highlighted the importance of the National Civil Protection Strategy, approved in Spain, in offering prevention, response and recovery in the areas affected. Along this line, the Acting President of the Government stressed that the Government of Spain will spare no efforts and that the Army will remain deployed to guarantee citizen safety until such time as the civil protection crisis is over.
