Pedro Sánchez flew over the areas affected and visited the command centres, where he received information directly from those in charge of the emergency units. He flew by helicopter around the whole district of Vega Baja in Alicante, particularly the municipality of Almoradí, which suffered a breach in the banks of the River Segura, where work is being done to close it as 50m3 of water are flowing through the breach per second. Subsequently he went to the Santomera dam in Murcia, where he saw that controlled discharges are being performed and that this is going according to plan, following which he visited Los Alcázares.

At the end of his trip, Pedro Sánchez thanked the emergency services for their work, highlighting the cooperation between all institutions, and stressed that "no effort will be spared in providing a response to this public health crisis", declaring his solidarity with those affected and offering his condolences over the deceased.

Over the course of the day, Pedro Sánchez was accompanied, among other public officials, by the Acting Minister for Home Affairs, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, for Public Works, José Luis Ábalos and for Agriculture, Luis Planas, by the government delegates in each region - Juan Carlos Fulgencio Tejedor and Francisco Javier Jiménez respectively - and by the commander of the Emergency Military Unit, Demetrio Barrachina. In Murcia, he also met with its regional president, Fernando López Miras.
