Spain is deeply concerned by the announcement of new US sanctions against the International Criminal Court, this time against two judges and two prosecutors.

In view of these new actions against the independence of the International Criminal Court, Spain reiterates its strongest support for this high court, expressing its solidarity and support to the judges and prosecutors affected and to all the staff of the International Criminal Court.

The International Criminal Court receives its mandate from the 125 member states of the Rome Statute. Its work is essential for accountability for the most serious crimes against humanity and for reparations for victims.

Spain will continue to comply with its obligations under the Rome Statute and international law, respecting and guaranteeing the full jurisdiction of the Court.
