Spain has already registered more than 126,000 applications for temporary protection from Ukrainian nationals

At today's meeting, it was agreed to create two new working groups within the Situation Committee: one on Ceuta and Melilla, whose objective is to draw up the Comprehensive Security Plan for both autonomous cities, as set out in the National Security Strategy 2021; and the other is the Permanent National Resilience Coordination Group, in accordance with international commitments, to strengthen our capacity for resilience, transformation and recovery vis-à-vis adverse situations.

Moreover, the seriousness of the humanitarian crisis caused by the Russian-initiated war has been reiterated. The conflict has forced more than 8 million people to leave Ukraine. In Spain, 126,819 applications for temporary protection have been registered, 36% of which are on behalf of minors.
