Spain has carried out more than 44.2 million diagnostic tests since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic

In the last week, 28 May to 3 June, the regional governments performed 440,914 PCR tests - an average of 62,988 per day.

In the same period, 28 May to 3 June, they carried out 240,048 antigen tests (an average of 34,293 per day). Added to the PCR tests performed, this gives a total of 680,962 tests done in this period, 97,280 per day. This is a 2% increase in the number of tests done, at a rate of 940.43 per 1,000 inhabitants.

New techniques are progressively being developed to diagnose SARS-CoV-2, such as the rapid antigen tests that Health Departments are introducing to manage the pandemic.
