The government expresses its gratitude for the efforts to foster this dialogue by the German Rotating Presidency of the European Union and by the President of the European Council, as well as by the High Representative and Vice-President of the Commission, efforts that received Spain's active support at all times and which are now beginning to bear fruit.
Spain hopes that this important step taken by the two parties will serve to consolidate the de-escalation of tension in the Eastern Mediterranean.
