The Spanish Minister for Industry believes that "the 'Q' stands for prestige, distinctiveness, reliability, rigour and promotion. On the path to the new normal, underpinning confidence in Spanish quality and safety is one of the big challenges. We need safety both where people are coming from and where people are travelling to, which means we need to ensure that tourists run no risks or bring risks into our country".

Reyes Maroto reiterated the Government of Spain's commitment to accompanying the sector through this stage of economic reconstruction and reviewed the various measures aimed at providing support, such as the Tourism Sector Promotion Plan, the mortgage holidays for tourism premises, the Tourist Destination Sustainability Plans and the extraordinary line of credit for 2020 aimed at projects that promote the digital transformation and tourism innovation. The Spanish minister believes that the goal is "a gradual return to normal that enables part of the summer tourist season to be recovered".

In conclusion, Reyes Maroto stressed that Spain boasts tourist attractions that combine with our extraordinary strengths, such as the climate, safety, health and the quality of our services and infrastructures, to offer leadership in the tourism sector.
