Spain has performed more than 2.5 million PCR tests since start of epidemic

Over the last seven days, between 22 and 28 May, the regional governments have increased their capacity to perform this type of diagnostic testing by 14%. Furthermore, the PCR rate to date has grown to stand at 53.8 tests per 1,000 inhabitants.

Together with the PCR diagnostic tests performed, the regional governments have also reported that a total of 1,527,609 rapid antibody tests have been performed, at a rate of 32.4 tests per 1,000 inhabitants, and a rise of 14% on the number the previous week. In the cases of Aragon, the Balearic Islands and La Rioja, this statistic includes antibody blood tests.

In total, 4,063,843 diagnostic tests for COVID-19 have been performed since the start of the epidemic, of which 507,276 correspond to the last week.
