This administrative agreement, framed within the framework agreement on cooperation established in 2001, seeks to boost the development of the Global Observatory for Donation and Transplant (GODT), by facilitating the necessary technical support by the Spanish National Transplant Organisation (ONT) to collect and manage global figures in this area, as well as data on legislative and organisational systems.

In addition, it will support the Transplant Programme of the WHO, backing the activities of this body aimed at increasing access by citizens to transplants, as well as to improving the quality and safety of organs, tissue and cells for their clinical use on humans and ensuring compliance with the Guiding Principles on Transplantation.

The agreement, which will remain in force until 31 October 2020, includes an economic contribution of 320,000 euros, earmarked for the development of projects and initiatives that the World Health Organization will implement in consultation with the ONT. This was first signed back in 2005, since which time it has been regularly renewed.
