Sant Llorenç, Majorca - 10/10/2018

The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, visited the Majorcan town of Sant Llorenç des Cardassar, to witness the consequences of the flooding firsthand, to see the emergency operations command and to express his solidarity and that of the government with those affected.

The President of the Government, accompanied by the President of the Regional Government of the Balearic Islands, Francina Armengol, and by the Government Delegate, Rosario Sánchez, declared his "solidarity and empathy" with the families of the victims and announced that they "will have the government's full support in returning to their daily lives as swiftly as possible".

The Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Territorial Policy and Public Function and the Regional Government of the Balearic Islands, will submit a report on Thursday to the Council of Ministers to assess the extent of the loss of human life and the scope of the material damage, in order to take the urgent measures necessary following the terrible damage suffered on the island of Majorca.
