Los Llanos Air Base, Albacete

He was accompanied on his visit by the President of the Regional Government of Castile La Mancha, Emiliano García-Page; the General-Chief of Staff of the Air Force, Javier Salto; the General-Chief of the General Air Command, José Alfonso Otero; the Colonel-Chief of Albacete Air Base, Juan Manuel Pablos; the Government Delegate, Manuel González Ramos; the President of the Provincial Council of Albacete, Santiago Cabañero, and the Mayor of Albacete, Manuel Serrano.

During his visit, the President of the Government had the chance to meet the professionals who work on a daily base with such cutting-edge technology as the Eurofighter combat aircraft, pilots that rack up over 200,000 hours of flying time and take part in numerous international missions.

In his speech, Pedro Sánchez congratulated them on their work by saying "you are the finest ambassadors of our country around the world", and said that "society knows that you are always ready to go into action; all of Spain loves you". The President of the Government also recalled those colleagues who died last year: Captain Borja Aybar, from Albacete Air Base, and Lieutenant Fernando Pérez, from Torrejón Air Base.
