Government to speed up project for main road south of Logroño by putting out tender before year-end

Pedro Sánchez conveyed to José Ignacio Ceniceros that "the government is aware of the importance of infrastructures for economic development and territorial cohesion, as well as to contribute to the population challenges faced by certain regions".

The President of the Government informed him that the main road south of Logroño is among the government's priority tenders to be put out, and that the Ministry of Public Works is revising the planning schedule to attempt, within budgetary limitations, to give a renewed boost to actions insofar as the development of the projects so allows.

The A12 motorway, the AP68 intersection in Lodosa, the widening of the N232 on several stretches and the high-speed train along the Cantabria-Mediterranean Corridor were some of the projects addressed at the meeting.

CuadradoAs regards wine-making, the government is working, in a coordinated fashion through the Ministry of Agriculture, together with the regional governments and the sector, on the amendment of Royal Decree 772/2017, regulating the wine-making production potential, in order to apply the amendments introduced by the Omnibus Regulation in Spain. This new Royal Decree, which is expected to be approved before the year-end and which will regulate the authorisations granted as from the year 2019, responds to the main concerns expressed by the Regional Govenrment of La Rioja on this matter.

Regional financing, the revision of the system of long-term care, improvements in the transfer of funds for rural development and measures related to depopulation were also addressed at Thursday afternoon's meeting.

Pedro Sánchez also informed him that the government is prepared to apply the mechanism to transfer funds between the rural development programmes of different autonomous regions, within the framework of the provisions of the regulation on its functioning.
