Tuesday 30 January 2018

The President of the Government, Mariano Rajoy, sent the following telegram of condolence to the President of the Republic of Colombia, Juan Manuel Santos Calderón, over the victims of the latest attacks in Colombia:

"Dear President,

I wish to send, in my own name and on behalf of the Government of Spain, our condolences and show of solidarity following the cowardly terrorist attacks over the weekend in the Departments of Atlántico and Bolívar.

We profoundly regret the loss of human life and would ask, Mr President, that you pass on to the families of the victims of these attacks our deepest sympathies, and our best wishes for a speedy recovery to those who were injured.

Colombia will always be able to count on Spain in its fight against terrorism and in its efforts to recover peace and national reconciliation. I remain at your entire disposition for whatever assistance you may deem necessary and would ask, Mr President, that you accept my warm regards and deepest personal respect".
