Mariano Rajoy sends condolences to President of Iran over victims of recent earthquake

"Dear Mr President,

I wish to convey, in my own name and on behalf of the people and Government of Spain, my sincere condolences and solidarity with all the people of Iran, following the devastating earthquake that struck last night, killing hundreds of people and causing serious material damage.

I would be grateful if you could pass on to the families of the victims of this natural disaster our deepest sympathies and affection, as well as our greetings and best wishes for a speedy recovery to those injured and others affected by this disaster.
