​Mariano Rajoy expresses condolences over victims of attack in Mogadishu

"Dear President,

In my own name and on behalf of the Government of Spain, I wish to express my sincere condolences over the cowardly attack in Mogadishu on Saturday, which cost the lives of more than 300 people and left a great many others injured. I would ask that you pass on my deepest sympathies to the families and friends of the victims, together with my best wishes for a speedy recovery to those injured.

At this time of pain, rest assured that the Government of Spain and all its people empathise with the Somali people and authorities.

This attack simply strengthens our commitment to the fight against terrorism and reaffirms our determination to ensure that those responsible are brought to justice.
