"Dear Mr President,

It is with great sadness that I write to you again to convey, for the second time in barely two weeks, the sincere condolences of the people and Government of Spain over the destruction caused yesterday by the devastating earthquake in Mexico.

I would appreciate it, Mr President, if you could pass on to the families of the victims of this natural disaster the deepest sympathies of the Spanish people, as well as our warmth and affectation. We also wish those injured and the others affected by this disaster a speedy recovery.

I would furthermore like to convey the full disposition of the Government of Spain to immediately collaborate with the Mexican authorities, in the event that they should so require this aid, in the current rescue tasks under way.

Please accept my warmest regards and deepest personal respect."

Mariano Rajoy Brey
President of the Government of Spain
