Mariano Rajoy congratulates Emmanuel Macron on his party's victory in legislative elections in France

"Dear President,

Please accept my warm congratulations on the resounding majority obtained by the party La République en Marche in the second round of the legislative elections held on 18 June. I am convinced that, under your management, the French Government will be able to push through its reform policy to the benefit of France and the whole of Europe.

After our fruitful meeting on Friday, I am convinced that we will continue to cooperate to further step up the extensive ties that unite our two nations, and that we will continue to push on together in boosting the European reform agenda and strengthening the integration project over the coming years.

I take this opportunity, Mr President, to reiterate my warm regards and deepest personal respect".
