This meeting is due to the inauguration of the new NATO headquarters; the previous headquarters having lost its capacity to host the successive increases in the number of allies over the last 50 years.

The meeting - which will also be attended by the President of the Republic of Montenegro, which will finish its process to join NATO at the start of July - will be divided into two parts.

The first part will be more formal, and will take the form of a ceremony to transfer the new headquarters, presided over by H.M. the King of the Belgians and two commemorative monuments will be unveiled of the Fall of the Berlin Wall and the 9/11 Attacks.

The second part will comprise a working dinner attended by the Heads of State and Government, which will foreseeably address the adaption of NATO to the new international scene, with close attention to the commitment to make progress on a fair distribution of the workload and NATO's role in the fight against terrorism.
