Moncloa Palace, Madrid

This issue is another reason for the presence of Commissioner Hogan in Madrid, although, prior to the meeting he inaugurated, together with the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries, Food and Environmental Affairs, Isabel García Tejerina, the High-Level Conference entitled "Building the future CAP" being held on 27 and 28 March.

The High-Level Conference is part of the public consultation process opened by the European Commission on 2 February on the modernization and simplification of the CAP in light of the upcoming post-2020 budget horizon, and must be used to identify the position Spain will present in this consultation process.

To achieve that, the meeting with the President of the Government served to convey to Commissioner Hogan, the senior official in charge of the future configuration of the CAP, the importance Spain assigns to this policy in light of the upcoming 2021-2027 budget horizon.
