Mariano Rajoy sends condolences to Theresa May over victims of tragic events in London

"Dear Prime Minister,

Dismayed by the tragic events that have taken place this afternoon in the centre of London, I wish to express, in my own name and on behalf of the Government of Spain, our deepest sympathies over the victims, our best wishes for a speedy recovery for those injured and our strong condemnation of the events. I also wish to convey a message of solidarity with the people and Government of the United Kingdom

A heinous terrorist act, such as has taken place today, only serves to remind us that we face complex challenges to the security of our societies. We must stand united against these types of threat that affect us all equally and that recognise no borders.

Allow me to reiterate that the United Kingdom can count on Spain's full support at these difficult times".
