Lower House of Parliament, Madrid

When asked by journalists about the protest that prevented Felipe González from speaking at a panel discussion at the Law Faculty of Universidad Autónoma de Madrid on Wednesday, 19 October, the acting President of the Government responded that "it is a bad state of affairs when we have to call for the exercise of fundamental rights such as those of speaking in public and the freedom of expression".

Mariano Rajoy thus declared his "full support to all those people, Felipe González in this case, who are not allowed by others to say what they deem fit and opportune".
