The Government of Spain is to send medicines to Liberia, as well as disinfection and protective equipment. At the ministerial meeting scheduled for tomorrow in Brussels, Spain will also propose discussing an increase in aid to the affected countries: Guinea, Liberia, Nigeria and Sierra Leone.

The first consignment of sanitary supplies will be provided through the Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality and the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The material to be sent includes two complete batches of medical equipment, protection and disinfection equipment, rehydration supplies and specific medicines.

The delivery will be coordinated with the NGO Farmamundi. The Juan Ciudad Foundation and the Order of San Juan de Dios, which run the San José Hospital in Monrovia, will receive the supplies in order to support the re-opening of the hospital.
