Madrid

President of the Government.- I am not going to state anything far-fetched; what I hope is that the elections on 21 December open up a new era of calm and normality; an era that beds down the economic recovery and that continues to create jobs, which is what people want.

What the people want is calm. I hope that the elections are held calmly and that there is a mass turnout, because we must all be aware that we are facing very important elections and, thenceforth, that we can enjoy a normal period, such as we have enjoyed for so long in Catalonia and in the rest of Spain.

I believe that this is the only relevant issue; it is what is important and what the government and the People's Party will obviously work for.
