Government condemns terrorist attack in Burkina Faso in which a Spanish priest was killed

The terrorist attack took place near to the town of Cinkanssé, in Burkina Faso, very close to the border with Ghana and Togo. Aside from the Salesian priest, others were also killed in the attack.

The Spanish Ambassador to Mali, also accredited with the authorities of Burkina Faso, has been in touch with the family of the victim to pass on his condolences and offer the embassy's services.

The ambassador will shortly travel to Burkina Faso to help the family with such paperwork and formalities as may be necessary.

The Government of Spain expresses its strong condemnation and dismay at this attack and calls on the authorities of Burkina Faso to open an investigation to clarify the circumstances of this murder, to which end it offers its full collaboration.
