The meeting focused on the legislative package "New Deal for Consumers". Accompanied by the Director-General for Consumption, Nelson Castro, the minister explained the work Spain is doing for its transposition. This is a Directive approved by the European Commission in April that seeks to modernise legislation on consumer rights, abusive clauses, unfair trade practices and price indications.

The meeting was framed within a round of contacts that María Luisa Carcedo is holding with institutions, organisations and other stakeholders related to areas of action that fall under the Minister of Health, Consumption and Social Well-being.
