This resolution, politically unacceptable to the Government of Spain, is the product of the breakaway movement of the pro-independence formations which, inexplicably, have been supported by another parliamentary group, which has irresponsibly used the Catalan institutions to fuel the conflict rather than serving the general interests of all the people of Catalonia. The legal extravagance of this attempt to reject and condemn H.M. King Felipe VI, lack any legal and constitutional foundations, and highlights the seriousness of the actions headed up by these groups on Thursday afternoon.

For this reason, and in defence of the law and the Constitution, the government will adopt those legal measures available to prevent actions that undermine the constitutional position of each and every State institution.
