Government of Spain welcomes the 40th anniversary of the reestablishment of diplomatic relations with Mexico

Over the last 40 years, Spain and Mexico have bedded down a privileged relationship in all areas, based on sound shared values, and our bilateral relations have reached an exceptional level, manifested in the establishment of a Strategic Association in 2007, and in the creation of the Bi-national Commission that will celebrate its 12th edition in Madrid on 20 April. Furthermore, the mutual commitment to build an Ibero-American space has experienced a decisive boost.

As a result of this fluid relationship, economic and cultural exchanges have increased exponentially which have resulted in better knowledge and closer ties between our people.

The government conveys its best wishes for peace, well-being and prosperity to the friendly nation of Mexico on this noteworthy occasion for our bilateral relations.
