Minister for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation meets with counterpart from Bosnia and Herzegovina

The two ministers recognised the positive period being enjoyed by bilateral relations. At a political level, Minister Dastis reiterated to his counterpart that Spain is firmly committed to the territorial integrity, sovereignty and unity of Bosnia and Herzegovina. As regards bilateral economic relations, the ministers agreed on the need to enhance them further, particularly through the new projects planned on infrastructures in the Balkan country, which may serve to stimulate a greater presence of Spanish investment.

Ministers Dastis and Crnadak also exchanged perspectives on regional and international policy. At a regional level, the Spanish minister conveyed to his counterpart the importance of Bosnia and Herzegovina continuing to contribute to peace and stability in the region.

As regards relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the EU and NATO, the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation congratulated his Bosnian counterpart on the major effort made to date by his country and urged him to continue down the path of reforms until such time as the Copenhagen criteria are complied with, together with the rest of the conditions required in the Euro-Atlantic space.
