The Government of Spain considers that the application of this agreement will provide significant benefits to Spain, to the European Union as a whole and to Canada, since it will facilitate exchanges in the field of the trade of goods and services, investment, access to public procurement and the establishment of companies, whilst maintaining the highest levels of equality in labour relations, defence of the environment and protection against the unlawful use of designations of origin.

The entry into force of the CETA will represent a major milestone in the development of free, open and fair trade and a potential model for economic relations between the European Union and other powers.
