The resolution reaffirms UN political support for the ICC, underlines the importance of relations between the two under the agreement signed in 2004 and highlights the need for Member States and the organisation to cooperate with the International Criminal Court.

Spain supports the principles and work of the ICC as a symbol of the fight against impunity vis-à-vis the most serious international crimes and considers positive complementarity and cooperation between the ICC and those States party to the Statute of Rome to be fundamental.
