This is one of the measures being implemented by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism and the State Secretariat of Trade to alleviate the possible effects of Brexit.

Any Spanish company with a subsidiary, delegation or branch office in the United Kingdom or that have exported to the United Kingdom within the last year will be eligible for the cheque. The latter companies will be required to have authorising customs authority status. All companies wishing to do so will be able to benefit from the Customised Services offered by the Economic Affairs and Trade Office in London.

The aim of the Brexit cheque is to support companies within the context of uncertainty surrounding Brexit so they can better deal with the possible changes in terms of access to the United Kingdom or to facilitate their diversification to markets in other countries around the world.

The Customised Services available to companies include the identification of local partners and the preparation of meeting agendas in any country worldwide, as well as a wide range of other services based on the specific needs of each company.

ICEX is also strengthening its free Ventana Global advice service. Companies can obtain up-to-date information of a practical nature about the consequences and procedures to follow in the event of a withdrawal by the United Kingdom from the EU, such as official export procedures and documents, certificates and labelling, goods transport requirements, etc.

All this information is available by calling the Ventana Global service for free on 900 349 000, at www.icex.es or by sending an email to informacion@icex.es.

CESCE Brexit line

Besides the measures launched by ICEX, other key entities that support business internationalisation (such as the Spanish Company for Export Insurance Credit (CESCE)) have also launched support mechanisms to alleviate the uncertainty that surrounds Brexit. CESCE will support those companies that continue to operate in the British market, as well as those that choose to steer their operations elsewhere. Furthermore, the company will continue to offer coverage in the United Kingdom. Given the expected increase in demand for insurance coverage, the CESCE will examine and assess cases individually within the framework of standard operations and especially strengthen coverage for SMEs.

Queries and requests for information about the products and services offered by CESCE regarding Brexit can be addressed to our Brexit Line by calling for free on 900 104 437. All information will be updated on a strictly weekly basis and is available at www.cesce.es/informacion-brexit and on the blog at asesoresdepymes.com.
