Government of Spain regrets conviction of Wenceslao Mansogo, an opposition figure in Equatorial Guinea

Thursday 10 May 2012

Spain regrets the conviction handed down by the Provincial High Court of Litoral in Bata, Equatorial Guinea, on Dr Wenceslao Mansogo, a prominent leader of the opposition party Convergencia para la Democracia Social (CPDS), which will stop him from carrying out his professional and political work in the future.

Spain trusts that, in full respect of national and international legal regulations governing the recognition and protection of civilian and political rights, the following stages of the legal proceedings will allow Dr Wenceslao Mansogo to regain his freedom and continue his professional and political activity.
